LCD Projectors vs. DLP Projectors

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Digital Light Processing (DLP) are two different kinds of projector technologies. Both LCD projectors and DLP projectors not only work differently, but also produce different results. LCD Projectors ? A projector lamp is the main source of light in LCD projectors. The light from this source is split into three beams, which then pass through three separate LCD glass panels. Each panel is fitted with a filter assigned to a separate color, red, green, and blue. Further, these LCD panels have numerous tiny pixels. These pixels either allow or block the light to produce the image that you see on the screen. DLP Projectors ? DLP projectors have the projector lamp as the light source, just like LCD projectors. However, DLP projectors differ from LCD projectors in the fact that, the light from the projector lamp, instead of passing through LCD panels, is reflected off a DLP chip, which contains several tiny mirrors. These mirrors, by wobbling back and forth, generate the light modulation needed. Difference LCD multimedia projectors produce more saturated colors, whereas DLP multimedia projectors produce higher contrast ratios with deeper black levels. The compact size is another advantage of projectors using DLP technology. When it comes to light-efficiency, LCD projectors have an edge over DLP projectors. Even with all these differences, there is one thing that is common to both these kinds of projectors – the projector lamp. If the lamp dies out after usage, it can be replaced, whatever the type of projector may be. The best place to buy projector replacement lamps of any kind is BulbToGo. com.
